Kiting for everyone
From first-timer to seasoned rider
You don't need to be an athlete, or to have ever set foot on a board. Kitesurfing is an accessible sport — as long as you meet a few simple requirements and you're in good hands.
At Be Wind Family, we welcome the curious who've never touched a wing just as warmly as the experienced riders looking to step things up.

Never tried it?
You're in the right place. Our beginner lessons are built to have you flying the kite from your very first session — safely, with your instructor guiding you over the radio.

Already a few sessions in?
Time to fine-tune: choosing your gear, reading the wind, water starts, riding upwind. You'll grow more independent session after session.

An experienced rider?
Freestyle, strapless, wave riding or foil — Paul and his team help you crack the trick or the move you've been missing.

We start at the very beginning, no pressure. A briefing on the gear, the safety rules and reading the wind, then handling the wing on land to learn how to steer it through the wind window. Your instructor stays right beside you, in constant radio contact, and adjusts the pace to how you're feeling. You don't need to be sporty — just keen.

You can steer the kite, so we head into the water. Body dragging to manage the wing in the water, relaunching, then the water start — your first metres standing on the board. It's the most thrilling stage: feeling the kite pull and the board carry you. We take it step by step, with the safety boat staying close by.
Beginner

The decisive milestone. You learn to ride upwind (the skill that changes everything), to handle your gear on your own and to link your tacks. Your instructor stays present but only steps in when you ask. By the end, you can ride independently on any spot suited to your level.

Tailor-made coaching: first jumps, transitions, surfkite, foil or freestyle. Paul — runner-up French champion 2019 — and his team bring the expert eye that makes all the difference. With video analysis, you pinpoint exactly what's holding you back.

Learning to kite in Lacanau
Moutchic lake — a spot made for learning
Lots of beginners start out facing the ocean. The result: waves, currents, stress, and progress at a crawl. Moutchic lake offers the exact opposite. A wide stretch of flat water, shallow at the edges, with a steady thermal wind in summer and unspoiled natural surroundings.
You build the right reflexes in reassuring conditions, free from the demands of the ocean. And once you're independent, you're just 15 minutes from the Atlantic coast spots — Lacanau-Océan, Le Porge, Carcans — to go chase the waves when you're ready.

More than a kite school
What sets Be Wind Family apart
Here, you're never left alone facing the water. Every student is fitted with a radio: your instructor corrects you in real time as you ride, even from a distance. A safety boat stays close by to step in, and doubles as a teaching tool. The result — you progress faster, and with confidence.
We ride Duotone and Flysurfer gear, renewed every season, and our instructors are state-certified. Paul, the school's founder, has been teaching kitesurf since 2012 and was runner-up French champion in 2019. With video playback of your sessions, you leave with an expert's eye on your riding — and some great footage to remember it by.

Mathieu and Axel
"Five days of kitesurfing as a beginner with my 9-year-old son — a brilliant team. Paul and Brice taught us to ride with real kindness, warmth and good humour. I can't recommend Be Kite in Lacanau enough!"

Teddy
"You're in the hands of THE right person. Paul is a great teacher and, above all, a real pleasure to be around — you have a genuinely good time with him. After a few days' course you've got solid foundations to keep learning on your own."

Bertrand
"A big thank you to Paul and Léo for their teaching (and their patience). First time kitesurfing, over 3 days (3h per session). They take you out by boat to a safe area of the lake where it's waist-deep all over for several hundred metres."

Servane
"Great end-of-day session, just the two of us, with supervised riding — the best! The van sits in a sheltered spot, but you really feel the good wind once you're out there. The gear is top quality. A real pleasure!"
